EMG Legal 500Posted: 17th October 2017

COUNTY Durham law firm EMG Solicitors is celebrating another successful year, as it continues to go from strength to strength.

The company has built a solid reputation for providing first class legal advice and support across several areas, and has once again been listed in the country’s most prestigious rankings – the Legal 500.

It marks the third year in succession that EMG has made the list, and this year it has moved up a ranking to the second tier for its personal tax, trusts and probate services.

The Legal 500 singles out EMG for both individual members of the team and for its expertise in a variety of areas.

For the second time the firm appears in the family law section, with associate Natalia Lalas described as someone who “excels in divorce and finance matters and has niche specialisms in surrogacy issues and civil partnerships”.

It also recommends EMG’s Julia Middleton and directors Emma Gaudern and Jemma Morland for their expertise.

Jemma features in the personal tax, trusts and probate section, listed as one of the region’s “best next generation” lawyers, while the company itself is described as “a dynamic firm” that is “among the finest Court of Protection firms in the country” and whose “knowledge is of the highest order.”

Managing director Emma Gaudern and solicitor Samantha Edward also received recommendations for their private client work under the same section.

Based at Abbeywoods Business Park, EMG was set up in 2014 by Emma Gaudern, and has since grown significantly, now employing 20 staff working across a wide range of areas of law.

Along with its latest Legal 500 listing, the company has been shortlisted in two categories of the industry’s most prestigious accolade scheme, reaching the finals in the Client Service and the Conveyancing Practice categories of the Law Society Excellence Awards.

Jemma Morland was also shortlisted in the North East Business Women of the Year in both the One to Watch and the Leadership awards categories.

“I am thrilled that EMG has made the Legal 500 for the third year running, and I am particularly proud that we have moved up a tier in the personal tax, trusts and probate services area,” said Emma Gaudern.

“We’ve had a very successful 2017 and this ranking acknowledges everyone’s hard work and passion for what we do.

“Our team is second to none, and I am delighted that once again we have been recognised in this way. I look forward to building on this success, as we strive to continue working hard for the benefit of our clients.”

EMG Solicitors is regarded for its skills and experience across a range of areas including family law, wills, trusts and probate, residential conveyancing and Court of Protection work.
