North East Solicitors Opens Second Office…Posted: 14th September 2019
A LEADING NORTH EAST law firm is consolidating its rapid expansion with the opening of a second office in Newcastle.
Award-winning EMG Solicitors, with its head office based at Abbeywoods Business Park, Durham has taken over the former Carphone Warehouse store at Gosforth High Street for its first base in the city.
Initially launched with a handful of staff, the company moved to Abbeywoods Business Park in 2016 to accommodate the growth in the range of legal services it offered and the expanding number of team members.
Now it has more than 40 solicitors and support staff working across Court of Protection work, deputyships, Wills, trusts and probate, residential and commercial conveyancing, civil and commercial litigation and family law, with a number of new legal appointments also imminent.
The Newcastle office will be headed up by Samantha Edward, a director who has been with EMG since 2016 and who was singled out as one of the Legal 500 recommended lawyers in 2017.
Samantha specialises in Wills, powers of attorney, mental capacity, estate and trust administration along with inheritance tax planning and asset protection.
Emma Gaudern said that opening a Newcastle branch was the next logical step in the firm’s growth plan.
“We have a clear strategy about where we want to go and opening a second office has always been a part of that,” said Emma.
“We spent a long time thinking about where our second office should be, but we felt a real affinity for Gosforth and that we would fit into the community well“
“It will make it easier to see clients in the north of the region closer to their base and also should open up a range of opportunities to engage with new clients.”
The expansion is the latest in a long line of successes for the firm, which has recently been shortlisted in The Law Society Excellence Awards in the Medium Size Law Firm of the Year category.
EMG Solicitors is also a strong supporter of North East charities, regularly fundraising for brain injury charity, Headway, and also supporting The Great North Elmer Parade by sponsoring its own elephant which currently can be seen on a grassed area next to the Newcastle office.
