IT’S four years since County Durham law firm, EMG Solicitors, was first included in the Legal 500 – a period which has seen consistent growth and an ever-increasing reputation for excellence.
The Durham based practice – which now operates from an impressive two-storey building which houses its 30 plus staff – has made the list once again, confirming its ability to provide the highest standards of service to a fast-growing client base.
The firm has been listed in the prestigious rankings as a tier 2 firm under personal tax, trusts and probate, where the team is led by director, Samantha Edward and has expanded in recent times with the recruitment of two new solicitors, Katharine Ayris and Lucy Hoskyns- Abrahall.
The team is praised for being client-focussed and professional and for being “easy to deal with” and highlights the expertise of Emma Gaudern and the fact she is “regularly called upon by high-net-worth individuals to assist with wills, trusts, probate and inheritance tax planning matters.”
EMG Solicitors has also been listed in tier 3 in the family section and is singled out for the fact it “provides an excellent service to private clients seeking advice and representation in all family law matters – ranging from financial remedies, child arrangement orders and injunctions through to parental orders in surrogacy cases.”
Lawyer Natalia Lalas is praised for her “ability to represent the client’s case well in court with an emphasis on achieving a resolution by agreement when appropriate,” a nod to her skills in collaborative working.

“I’m delighted that EMG has made the Legal 500 for the fourth year running. It is real recognition and acknowledgement of the dedicated team that we have,” said Emma Gaudern. It’s been an exciting year for us in terms of expansion and our plan is now to build on our successes and continue to grow.”
