Karen MiddlemissParalegal

Job Role at EMG

I joined the firm In October 2021 and am employed as a Paralegal in the Court of Protection team. I support vulnerable persons who are not capable of decision making due to injury or trauma, and am enjoying building relationships with them and with their families. Although having worked for a legal firm in the past- this is a new area to me and I am enjoying the challenge.

For 8 years prior to this I was employed as a Police call-handler and the skills I learnt in that role are standing me in good stead as the current clients need patience and understanding and the best part is no more shifts. I’m looking forward to having all of Christmas at home with my family this year.

What do you like about working at EMG?

Ive known Emma and Jemma for a number of years and it has been lovely to be working with them again. I have had a lovely warm welcome from everyone I have met in the firm and am loving the ‘little things’ like the rewardmeapp- just feels like the extra mile..

Outside of EMG?

I’m the mother of 3 grown up children, the oldest is a teacher in Dubai, my son is a financial advisor and the youngest is at home. When I’m not at work I spend time helping out on our working farm and livery yard with my husband of 33 years. I have also recently acquired 4 pet sheep and we are hoping for some spring lambs from them. My husband and I have a dog each- he has a border terrier who likes to ride alongside him on the tractor, I have a Jack Shit ‘allegedly’ called Lola- we love spending time with them and just being out in the fields.
