Job role at EMG
I am a Solicitor specialising in the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, as well as undertaking Estate planning and Inheritance Tax planning. I also deal with Estate administration, from simple estates to complex estates.
I joined EMG Solicitors in September 2018. I am 16 years qualified in this area of law and have worked at some top rated firms in the North East of England. I have always been passionate about law and I studied at the University of Hull gaining a first class degree in law (1 of 5 awarded that year). Hull University also awarded me 2 prizes for top of the year group in 2 different modules of law.
What do you like about working at EMG?
I enjoy meeting clients and giving them the best advice and attaining the best solution. I draft Wills for a wide range of clients over the years including business owners and farmers. A Will is always a bespoke document as each client’s family circumstances and financial circumstances are different. I take time to know my clients. I like that every day is different and client’s needs are different. As well as preparing Wills, I also prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney. I assist clients with Estate planning and Inheritance Tax planning as it is important to safeguard and preserve wealth for families. I deal with Estates and I can guide clients through the legalities with sensitivity and compassion.
Outside of EMG?
I spend most of my time looking after 2 young boys! I would like to say that I have a long list of hobbies, but in reality my hobby is facilitating my children’s hobbies!
Katharine qualified in September 2003.
