Natalia LalasAssociate Solicitor

I qualified as a solicitor in 2002 having studied and worked in England and Europe. I undertook my training contract in Lincolnshire where I specialised in family law.

I returned to the North East in 2003 and worked for a large commercial practice in Teesside where I specialised in divorce and financial settlement cases. In 2008, I became the first solicitor in Teesside to qualify as a Collaborative Lawyer. This is a process designed to take the “sting” out of divorce or separation and help couples to resolve their difficulties without resorting to court and therefore enabling them to retain control of the process.

I joined EMG Solicitors in 2015 and currently represent clients in the local courts as well as the High Court in London. My expertise covers all aspects of family law including divorce, financial claims, children issues such residence and contact, cohabitee property disputes, civil partnership dissolution and surrogacy.

I represent many police officers or police employees in respect of family issues and as a result of my expertise, I act as the specialist family solicitor for Durham Police Federation. Apart from the work I have undertaken helping couples who have separated, I also specialise in surrogacy law which helps couples obtain a legal order following the birth of their child to a surrogate. I have acted for clients throughout England and abroad and have expertise acting in international and domestic surrogacy cases. I am also recommended in the Legal 500 for my expertise in this specialist area.

Natalia qualified in August 2002.
